Our annual Sustainability Week took place on 21st - 25th September and aligned with this year's World Green Building Week, raising awareness of the current global issues and encouraging our people to take part in activities linked to energy and climate (reduction), travel, food and sustainably resourcing, wellness, health and exercise.
We welcomed a range of guest speakers throughout the week including, Alastair Mant at UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), Sue Riddlestone OBE at Bioregional, Karen Newby, Nutritional Therapist, James White at ClimateCare, Chris Warrick at the UK Atomic Energy Authority and Patrick O'Flynn at the University of the West of England. Huge thanks to some of our internal TB+A staff who also gave some fantastic sustainability and health and wellbeing related presentations.
Our activities, competitions and challenges included a lunchtime ‘Boxfit’ session provided by Urban, ‘Ask the kids’ poster competition, virtual ‘Meditation & Mindfulness’ session, 'Coffee & Cake' morning for mental health and wellbeing, Sustainability Bingo and a national walking competition to help raise awareness on the climate crisis. In total, our people walked a whopping 2,140,116 steps, each playing their part in the bid to tackle climate change. Thank you to all who took part!
Last but not least, we’d like to thank everyone who got involved in our ‘Wear Green Day’ and submitted their pledges in helping to reduce carbon and waste over the next year. Here’s to Sustainability Week 2021!
