A group of volunteers from TB+A took part in a Global Generation scheme in November 2022, helping to build the Paper Garden’s new cordwood classroom.
A group of volunteers from TB+A took part in a Global Generation scheme in November 2022, helping to build the Paper Garden’s new cordwood classroom. This very exciting circular economy project is being constructed of reused and waste materials, and is the largest build of its kind within the UK.
The building work itself is using lime mortar to join together prepared logs which will form the carbon absorbing walls of the classroom and once completed, will be a community hub for young people and families, who will use it to grow food, cook and eat together.
"Putting our hard hats and hi vis on, we channelled our inner builder to give back to the community and develop our team-working skills with not only our colleagues but other volunteers on the program. It was lovely to meet other volunteers and enjoyed lunch cooked by local mums."
