TB+A were appointed with our framework partners HLM Architects and Turner Townsend by Southern Regional College (SRC) to design a new bespoke, state-of-the-art, STEM teaching facility within SRC Newry West Campus.
The new facility is focused on delivering educational and instructional activities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The Centre shall accelerate interest in STEM careers by promoting excitement from science and enthusiasm from discovery.
The new learning environment shall stimulate the imagination of up and coming Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians.
The project consisted of the internal refurbishment and re-modelling of existing ground floor circulation, cellular office and careers accommodation to create a new STEM student hub, student break-out areas and new circulation areas. M&E Services consisted of new LED lighting, LED colour changing, dali lighting management system, general power, AV/presentation systems, mechanical ventilation systems and BMS systems.
The project was successfully delivered on programme and within the tight budgetary constraints and within a fully operational and functional existing higher education campus.
TB+A are delighted to have partnered with SRC to provide a 1st class facility for future engineers.
